Le Festival International de Cannes a Commencé!

The Cannes Film Festival has begun! Every year Cannes, France, located on the French Riviera is the center of glamour and beauty, as actors, actresses, directors, producers and movie fans from around the world gather, in their tapis rouge best, to celebrate cinema. For more than 60 years, the festival has continued the tradition of offering opportunité et espoir for new talents and innovators from all outlets of filmmaking. It is a place of discovery and exchange of films and spreads a true passion for cinema to every corner of the world.
In addition to the premiers, programs and forums, teams of professionals, called juries, award prizes to chosen films in specific areas. Le Palm d'Or, or Golden Palm awarded for best picture, is itself a main focus of the festival and is one of the most esteemed awards in the film industry. Popular past winners include; Taxi Driver, All That Jazz and Pulp Fiction.
