The Secrets of Successful Pastel Painting - pastel class

If you live in the Boston area you have the opportunity this weekend to work with our artist Joelle Levallet-Feldman. An accomplished painter, Joelle's work can be found in several galleries throughout New England and right on our own Art pages here. Her pastel workshop is not to be missed and there are a few spots available for this weekend's class at the Concord Art Association, Concord, Massachusetts.

The Secrets of Successful Pastel Painting
Beginner/Intermediate

 Learn the process of building a pastel painting from start to finish. The workshop starts with an introduction to materials. Students will explore and experiment with a variety of pastel painting surfaces using different grades and brands of pastel sticks. The focus will be on composition, desired texture, color, drawing an outline, applying an under-painting, gradually building up the layers to a finished painting. Students will also learn basic techniques and good study habits to help master the pastel painting process and, ultimately, giving you greater freedom in the medium. See Joelle’s work here.
